The Silent Struggle of Postnatal Mental Health ( Beyond Postpartum Depression)

The Silent Struggle of Postnatal Mental Health ( Beyond Postpartum Depression)

Saturday, October 12, 2024 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

The World Health Organization reports that globally, approximately 10% of pregnant women and 13% of women who have given birth experience mental disorders, particularly depression, with even higher rates in developing countries. Mental health issues in men after their partners give birth are often ignored despite them also experiencing feelings of depression. Navigating parental mental health after childbirth can be challenging, as many parents struggle to recognize symptoms of postnatal issues like depression, anxiety, and psychosis. This workshop aims to address the mental health challenges faced by parents after giving birth while offering compassionate guidance and practical resources to help you assist parents through this often-overlooked aspect of parenthood. This workshop is approved for 6 CORE hours.
