Description

This workshop will focus on the definition of supervision, review models and methods of supervision, and review a variety of roles that counselors balance and examine the supervisory relationship. Using case examples practice identifying this balance and the challenges they can pose. Real life situations will be reviewed to discuss a variety of challenges faced in supervision. Discussion will focus on how to resolve them using a strength-based approach. Guidance is shared for navigating dilemmas in a manner consistent with legal and ethical standards. Sample situations and categories include professionalism, documentation, liability insurance, reporting, legal situations, and therapy for counselors.
