Description

As a society, we do not do grief well. We think grief should look and play out in certain ways. This workshop will look at the grieving process from the perspective of different cultures and subcultures. Expressions of grief vary in different cultures. Some cultures display grief in a stately manner while in other cultures grief is expressed openly showing passionate emotions. We will identify the ethics involved in identifying the culture of grief in working with those in the therapy room.Participants will be able to: Recognize the necessity of incorporating culture when addressing grief. The workshop is worth 3 ETHIC hours.
