This continuing education class delves into the intricate relationship between sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs) and mental health, providing therapists with valuable insights to enhance their practice. Led by experienced therapists specializing in sexual health and mental well-being, this program offers a holistic perspective on how STIs/STDs can impact individuals' psychological and emotional states. Participants will explore the psychological ramifications of receiving an STI/STD diagnosis, including stigma, shame, anxiety, and depression. Through case studies and interactive discussions, therapists will learn practical strategies for supporting clients in coping with the emotional aftermath of diagnosis, fostering resilience, and promoting self-compassion. This workshop is approved for 6 CORE hours.
