Description
This workshop will explore effects of adverse childhood experiences over the course of the lifetime, paying specific attention to presentation of symptoms in therapy. In addition, discussion regarding the effectiveness of a source-focused perspective for trauma clients, and increased development of a trauma specific model for therapists will be considered. Participants will role play applying source-focused thinking to case scenarios. Participants will be given practical tools to assess and conceptualize impact of trauma on clients, as well as help inform treatment planning and education for the client. Lastly, Strategic Trauma and Abuse Recovery (12STR), a structured, spiritually integrated model of trauma treatment, will be discussed as an option for treatment.
