Description

An addiction affects all aspects of not only the person addicted but all persons around them, especially their spouse. The divorce rate is alarming, but even more alarming for those couples dealing with addiction. Often the help is sought during the heightened urgency of chaos for the person in addiction; during the addiction and for a few months after. But what about a year after? Or what about the impact on the spouse? Often, there is a lack of follow through or resources, especially for healing the marriage. This workshop will review current research/statistics of the impact of addictions, success of marriages in recovery, and impact on the non-addicted spouse. This workshop will also present a review and application of a first of its kind literature resource, Marriage After Addiction- Take Back Your Life Together. Participants will learn a 5 step approach for individual, couples or small group therapy. This workshop is approved for 3 CORE hours.
