Helping Clients Heal from Traumatic Upbringings

Friday, October 17, 2025 (8:30 AM - 2:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

This course explores how traumatic upbringings impact clients in adulthood. Participants will learn to identify signs of traumatic upbringing in adult clients, distinguish between developmental and generational trauma, and recognize symptoms of Complex PTSD (CPTSD). The course will emphasize practical, trauma-informed tools including self-compassion mantras, scripts for boundary-setting, and guidance for helping clients develop new neural pathways. The course also includes orientation to key theoretical models—such as Adlerian Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion, Narrative Therapy, and Rogerian Core Principles—as well as ethical considerations for competence, readiness, and self-awareness when working with trauma.
