In this weekend workshop, you and your partner will learn how to rekindle friendship, humor, and romance in your own relationship and see how effective it can be for couples in your practice. You will learn communication tools, uncover how your past may influence your current relationships, and practice connecting in a secure and meaningful way. The Getting the Love You Want workshop is a requirement for certification as an Imago Clinical Therapist. This workshop is based on the evidence-based principles of Imago Relationship Therapy and the best-selling book, Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples by Harville Hendrix, PhD and Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD. Objective 1: Participants will learn the Imago Dialogue and how to apply it to improve understanding and communication with their clients and personal relationships Objective 2: Utilize written exercises to uncover the unconscious forces that attract individuals to their partners and how these may also be sources of conflict Objective 3: Create and apply a relationship vision for their personal relationship and learn how to use it with clients and practice the Behavior Change Request to effectively ask a partner for what they want while minimizing conflict
