Description
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) are both evidence-based treatments that address emotional dysregulation, but they are designed for distinct psychological presentations. While DBT targets disorders characterized by emotional undercontrol—such as borderline personality disorder (BPD)—RO-DBT focuses on individuals with excessive self-control, which can contribute to conditions like obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) and chronic depression. This continuing education webinar offers clinicians a foundational understanding of DBT and RO-DBT, highlighting their theoretical frameworks, skill sets, and practical applications. Participants will explore the key distinctions between these two modalities and learn how to determine which approach best serves specific client populations. This 3-hour webinar focuses on providing clinicians with an understanding of dialectical behavior therapy and how to apply it to practice.
