Description
Over the course of an hour, mental health professions will learn key signs and symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder through a combination of lecture and video. They will be shown video clips to highlight different stages of behavioral escalation. They will be offered intervention techniques they can use in helping clients and families at different stages of behavioral escalation. Online and local resources will also be shared.

Presenter is Christina Charette, Psy.D
Christina Charette, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in Georgia & North Carolina. She obtained a BA degree in psychology, a MA degree in Clinical Psychology, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Northwest Georgia Internship Consortium & a postdoctoral fellowship in juvenile forensic psychology from UMASS-Boston. Dr. Charette has provided assessment & counseling to children/adolescents for over a decade in a wide range of settings. Her expertise are ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, self-harm behaviors, sexual behavior problems, trauma, & autism. She also trains law enforcement officers on Crisis Intervention & Autism & is a NAMI certified CIT Youth trainer.
