Description

This in-person presentation will clarify the distinctions between art therapy and art as therapy, focusing on professional scope, application, and ethics in both clinical and non-clinical settings. Attendees will be introduced to the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) and Media Dimension Variables (MDV) as frameworks for choosing and facilitating art materials with clinical intention. Evidence-based art therapy interventions will be explored, with an emphasis on informed material selection and ethical, therapeutic application across diverse populations and settings. This presentation will include some art intervention.
