LPCA Town Hall: Counseling Compact Update
LPCA Town Hall: Counseling Compact Update
Tuesday, August 12, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
The Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia is hosting a virtual Lunch & Learn to discuss the most recent updates with the Counseling Compact. The Counseling Compact "is an interstate compact, or a contract among states, allowing professional counselors licensed and residing in a compact member state to practice in other compact member states without need for multiple licenses" (https://counselingcompact.gov/).
With the help of LPCA of GA's advocacy efforts and Georgia Lawmakers, Georgia was the very first state to pass legislation in regards to the compact approximately four years ago. The Counseling Compact has been in the works ever since, now with 38 other participating states. As the Counseling Compact is preparing for its eventual rollout, Georgia might not be as ready as we had hoped given Georgia's initial role as a pioneer for the country.
LPCA of GA is using this Lunch & Learn to provide an update for Georgia counselors on the status of the compact, when you can expect to join, and what you can do to help push Georgia forward in the movement. We need your attention and participation. LPCA of GA helped Georgia lead the way and we would like to continue as a leader in this movement. We need you, as current, retired, or aspiring counselors in Georgia, to join us and learn about what is happening with the Secretary of State and why Georgia counselors may be left behind because of it.
Please join us to learn more.
Register Now! We have a registration limit of 80.
**This event will be recorded and made available to members within 1-2 business days of the event for those who are unable to attend.
