FarmResponse® is an on-demand 3.5-hour continuing education course developed by national experts from AgriStress Response®. AgriSafe’s FarmResponse course includes the full range of competencies necessary to provide appropriate mental healthcare for agricultural producers and their families. This knowledge is critical for a healthcare professional to care for a farmer’s total health effectively.

Farming, though a noble and essential profession, is fraught with numerous risks that can significantly affect the livelihood of farmers, the stability of food production and ultimately the food supply to Georgia and the world.

Weather is perhaps the most significant environmental factor affecting farming. Agricultural production is highly dependent on weather conditions. Droughts, floods, unseasonal rain, and extreme temperatures can devastate crops and reduce yields, leading to financial losses for farmers. In 2024, Hurricane Helene alone, left 41 Georgia counties designated as disaster areas. Livestock and fowl producers are also affected by low crop production due to the subsequent increased cost of feedstuff. The unpredictability of weather patterns means that farmers and other agricultural producers must constantly be prepared for adverse conditions that could ruin their harvests.

Licensed Professional Counselors do not have to have an in-depth knowledge of farming to help the farming community but if you would like a better understanding of working with this population you can take the self-paced free 3.5 hours course offered by the LPCA and produced by AgriSafe.

In order to register for this course for FREE, follow these steps:

1. Click "Register" above and be taken to the FarmResponse scholarship page.

2. Sign up for the scholarship with AgriSafe. This scholarship allows Georgia residents to access this course for FREE! You must fill out this scholarship form in order to receive the discount code. After submitting, you should receive your discount code (and instructions) via email. 

3. Once you have received your discount code, create your account with AgriSafe. You can do this through the link in the instructions, or click HERE to create your account.

4. Once your account has been created, use the link in the instructions to register for the course on AgriSafe or click HERE and use the discount code you received through the scholarship application. You MUST send in the scholarship application to receive the discount code for the course.
