HOURS:               8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday


QUALIFICATIONS


  • LCSW, LMFT or LPC required
  • Demonstrated clinical skills, with four years of experience in a direct provision of social services
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience with program budget and data management
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Skilled in crisis management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF POSITION


The Manager of Counseling Services develops and oversees the implementation of clinical programming specific to individuals and families served by the agency and its collaborative partners.  Participant preference for this service is given to the sheltered homeless population and persons at risk for homelessness as verified by referring agencies. Counseling services are also offered to the community serving a wide range of mental health needs. The Manager is responsible for the daily operation, supervision and development of the clinical staff.  The Manager will serve as lead contact and representative for the clinical mental health programs operated by Union Mission. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring programmatic objectives are met in accordance with funder requirements and all applicable state and federal laws.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following list of responsibilities is not meant to be all-inclusive and may be adjusted to meet program needs.

  • Develop and direct professional counseling staff to provide family, individual, and group counseling services. 
  • Oversee programs for, but not limited to, substance abuse treatment, anger management and mental health services. 
  • Identify and sustain funding sources for counseling programming.
  • Develop community relationships with collaborative partners.
  • Manage daily operations of the program to include scheduling, client/group coordination, billing practices and chart maintenance.
  • Serve as lead of Union Mission’s Peer-Support Group.

Additional Duties

  • Assures reporting of collected data is maintained in a timely manner and provided to appropriate partners. Analyzes data and prepares monthly reports.
  • Attends organization, community and other meetings as required, pertaining to the development of the programs.
  • Assists in the budget process.
  • Participates in policy and program development.
  • Writes federal, state, city and foundation grants with oversight by the Director of Operations and the Development team. 
  • Monitors program and grant compliance.
  • Interviews, screens, and participates in the hiring of new counseling staff and interns.
  • Administers annual performance evaluations to counseling services staff.
  • Manages disciplinary process of staff in accordance with Union Mission, Inc., policies and procedures.
