Sandy Plains Healthcare is a small, collaborative mental health practice committed to providing high‑quality, compassionate care. We work with adults and children who are facing psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and life‑stress issues who have a variety of public and private healthcare plans.
Role Summary
As a Therapist on our psychiatric team, you will provide psychotherapy and associated therapeutic services, collaborate with psychiatric providers, and other staff, and help clients make meaningful progress toward their mental health and overall wellness goals. You will share responsibilities for assessment, treatment planning, individual/group/family therapy, documentation, and participation in team‑based care. Our full staff of administrative support professionals work to make sure your time is dedicated to doing what you love - Caring for Patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients, including intake interviews and mental health screenings.
* Develop, implement, and periodically update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and psychiatric team.
* Provide evidence‑based therapy (individual, family, couples, and/or group) as appropriate.
* Monitor client progress and adjust therapy approaches as needed.
* Participate in regular treatment team meetings / case conferences with psychiatrists, social workers, and other clinicians.
* Collaborate on crisis intervention when needed.
* Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge planning, etc.).
* Make referrals to community resources or support services when appropriate.
* Uphold confidentiality, ethical practice, and relevant legal standards.
* Engage in ongoing professional development (training, supervision, staying current on therapeutic modalities).
Qualifications
Required:
* Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field.
* Valid state license LPC, LCSW, LMFT.
* At least 3 years of clinical experience working with clients in a mental health or psychiatric setting.
* Experience with evidence‑based therapies (CBT, DBT, trauma‑informed care, etc.).
* Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
* Ability to manage caseload, prioritize tasks, and document thoroughly in a timely manner.
Preferred:
* Experience working in psychiatric / hospital / community mental health settings.
* Familiarity with co‑occurring conditions (mental health + substance use).
* Bilingual ability if relevant to your population.
* Experience with electronic health record systems - we will be fully in EPIC.
* Experience providing or leading group therapy.
