About

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! I'm Kaitlyn McLaughlin, MS. LPC, CPCS

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and certified professional counselor supervisor (CPCS) licensed in Georgia, Florida, Oregon, and South Carolina and I practice solely online via video teletherapy. I have been a therapist for 6 years and find passion in my job each day. I am honored to get to walk alongside others on their unique journeys through life's challenges and difficult seasons of life.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a B.S. in Psychology (minor in Sociology) in 2016. I then obtained my M.S. in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University in 2019. I received the Ali McNichols Outstanding Graduate Student Award I completed my internship experiences at Positive Impact Health Centers, Rape Response, and Brenau Center for Counseling and Psychological Services. I completed my post-graduate supervision requirements as an associate professional counselor at CMS Counseling.

Upon receiving my LPC licensure in 2022, I started my own private practice - and TheraRise Counseling & Consulting was born! I love the flexibility of owning my own business and being able to provide telehealth (online sessions) to individuals across the country (GA, FL, SC, OR). I am also a newly certified professional clinical counseling supervisor in GA. I love getting the opportunity to invest in the growth and development of new counselors entering the field.

I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and identify as lesbian. I am also a mother, wife, and advocate. I have also undergone fertility treatments in order to conceive our son and supported my wife through her fertility treatments and conception of our daughter. These lived experiences give me a unique perspective in supporting my clients.

When I am not practicing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our two children, and our two cats. I like reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing board games, traveling, and crafting.
