About

Before we start working together, there are a few things you should know about me. My name is Crystal Jackson, and I have a Master of Arts in Community Counseling. I practiced with individuals, couples, children, and families for several years as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor before taking a break to write. During my time away from practicing as a therapist, I built a following on my blog about mental health, relationships, personal growth, chronic illness, trauma recovery, and other topics that intersected with my personal and professional experience.

At this time, I'm in the process of having my license reinstated in the state of Georgia, as it lapsed during my writing years. This mostly involves crossing a few t's and dotting some i's, which I'm doing now. I'm a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors, the Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia, and the American Counseling Association.

As a master's level clinician, my work has always been trauma-focused and centered around the importance of telling our personal stories to heal from them. I'm an advocate of self-love but also self-awareness and cultivating the courage to change. I would be honored to work with you in whatever chapter of your life you're exploring now.

I deeply believe in the power of the individual to create change and cultivate a beautiful, meaningful life, and I also believe in respecting the many different paths we may take to achieve it. My journey is not yours. Yours is not mine. But I would be glad to walk with you on your path to healing, healthy relationships, and recovery.

My goal is to offer a safe and inclusive environment for your therapy journey whether you're here to discuss your feelings about the latest Taylor Swift album or a history of complex trauma. This time is for YOU.

When I'm not seeing clients or working on my next book, you'll find me raising two wild and wonderful children in Madison, Georgia. If you follow my work online, you'll likely find irreverent memes, photos of fur and feather babies, book recommendations, mental health advocacy posts, relationship articles, and photos of traveling or outdoor adventures. I look forward to working with you!
