About
Jo-Anne T. Liakakos is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University and completed her undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a Specialization in Foods and Nutrition. Prior to becoming a Licensed Counselor Jo-Anne was a practicing Nutritionist providing education and counseling to individuals and families through educational classes, workshops, and private counseling. She is verified through the American Dietetic Association and incorporates her knowledge of foods and nutrition into her counseling practice when dealing with relationship with food issues as well as Eating Disorders.
Jo-Anne’s clinical experience includes community mental health, psychiatric residential treatment facility, adolescent day treatment facility, private practice, and community and private nutritionist services; all with experience in individual, group, and family methodologies. She is trained as a Parent Coordinator through the Cooperative Parenting Institute in Atlanta and provides various services through that training. Jo-Anne additionally has extended training in various areas including certifications and facilitator training with Prepare Enrich for couples work, The Marriage Breakthrough, The Nurturing Parenting Program, Cooperative Parenting and Divorce, and Reaching Difficult Kids and Families program. Jo-Anne continues to seek, and values, personal education and training in all areas of interest in order to best serve her clients.
