Janice is a licensed as a professional mental health counselor in the state of Georgia, holds a national certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor, and received specialized training in blindness and low vision at the National Research & Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision at Mississippi State. 

Adjusting to vision loss can be challenging. Like any other major life event, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed and to experience depression, stress, anxiety, and grief. You are not alone. People who experience sudden sight loss have to be ready emotionally before they can begin rehabilitation.
