David Smith has served as Executive Director of The Summit Counseling Center in Johns Creek, Georgia since 2001. David is an ordained minister, a licensed therapist and clinical supervisor. His clinical specialties are helping people heal from grief, trauma and loss and working with couples to improve their relationship. During his tenure, The Summit has become a leading provider of mental healthcare in North Atlanta with over 50 employees working to provide over 23,000 hours of counseling in 6 community-based locations and 31 schools. The Summit works to make counseling affordable for its clients by raising over $1.5M per year to fund its mission and the Client Assistance Fund. The Summit has been awarded the Gold Seal of Transparency by GuideStar and Charity Navigator. The Summit is accountable to an independent Board of Directors and maintains accreditation with the Solihten Institute located in Denver, Colorado.
