Ethics and the Self: How Shadow can enter the Therapy room.

Description

This workshop will begin with overview of Ethical guidelines for practicing therapist focusing on the six sections of the AMHCA Code of Ethics. The bulk of the 5hr Ethics class will focus on Carl Jung's concept of shadow and how it plays a part in the life of the therapist and the patient. Therapist self awareness is an ethical position to better manage the therapeutic alliance. From this place of awareness the provider can allow and encourage the patient to confront and integrate rejected parts of self. This workshop is approved for 5 ETHIC hours.
